when using command "deletePerson 1" with an empty list, it says invalid command format when it is indeed a correct format, shouldn't it be invalid index instead?

Hello, thank you for your feedback! In this case, it is missing one of company/people index, hence we say that it is an invalid command format as specified in our UG's expected output as shown below! Hope this clarifies why the error message is "Invalid Command Format!" as the format of your inputted command does not follow the one specified in our UG!
