Cleanup: README and CONTRIBUTING

Description

Which issue does this PR tackle?

  • README and CONTRIBUTING should be more verbose.

How does it solve the problem?

  • Adds some content to README and CONTRIBUTING, inspired by pyDVL.

How are the changes tested?

  • No test needed.
