How to listen to Sats Worthy Songs with Podcast Guru

  1. Download Podcast Guru for either iOS or Android here: https://podcastguru.io

Screenshot 1            Screenshot 1

  1. Open the app and click 'Profile' in the lower right

Screenshot 1

  1. Click the settings gear in the upper right

  1. Podcast Guru uses Alby for their bitcoin wallet. To link an Alby wallet click the text below Alby Sign-in

Screenshot 1

  1. You can either log in to connect if you already have an Alby wallet, or sign up to create one

Screenshot 1

  1. If you've added a password to your Alby wallet, click login with password

Screenshot 1

  1. After connecting, click Value 4 Value configuration

  1. Enter a name. You can use any name, and change it at any time. For the artists, its more satisfying to see lots of different people streaming value instead of everyone keeping 'Anonymous' for their name

  1. Set your default Boost Amount and Stream Rate. These can be adjusted independently for each podcast/artist as well. Stream rate is the amount per minute that will go to the artists or podcast while you're listening. The Boost button is an additional one-time payment that can be sent with or without a message to the artist in addition to the streaming rate. For help deciding on your default values, see: (Add Link Later)

  1. In either the 'Discover' or 'My Podcasts' section, search for 'Sats Worthy Songs'

Screenshot 1

  1. You can click subscribe to add SWS to the list of podcasts you follow, or just start listening to an episode with the play button

Screenshot 1

  1. Click the lightning symbol (Note: this button won't be present if the artist or podcast has not included the value tag in their RSS feed to enable streaming payments)

Screenshot 1

  1. Click 'Stream sats'

Screenshot 1

  1. The streaming rate will start off at the default value you have in settings, but if you tap the green text, you can change it here temporarily. This view will also show you the equivalent $/minute rate based on the current bitcoin exchange rate (1 sat = 0.00000001 bitcoin)

  1. Click the menu button to see the show notes, the chapters list, and the list of V4V splits

Screenshot 1

  1. In the chapters list, you can click any song and go directly to it. Useful for skipping past a song you're not as into, or for getting to a song you really like quickly

Screenshot 1

  1. In the V4V tab, you can click the lightning symbol for a particular song. This will tell you how the sats you stream or boost are getting split up for that song

Screenshot 1

  1. Here you can see that if you boosted 1000 sats, 230 (or 23%) will be going to the drummer of the band

  1. The button in the lower right contains your specific settings for this Podcast

  1. Here you can choose whether or not you get notified of new episodes, if new episodes auto-download, if you want to use a different boost amount or stream rate here instead of your default values, and if you want sats streaming to start by default without turning it on each time. I would recommend turning on 'Stream sats when playing' so you don't have to manually turn it on each time.
