Can grid-leader be made open source

It (https://github.com/jonathanopalise/grid-leader) seems quite promising and the author Jonathan Thomas (https://github.com/jonathanopalise) is active. There is no license information to the game and it's archived, so I cannot open an issue, but the author is active on Github and has more projects. I might be able to contact him and suggest an open source licensing successfully. The game seems to be promising.
