[Bug] [Linux] Media-heavy channels on Linux causing freezes #250

Describe the bug
Entering the Chat may cause a crash

To Reproduce
Sometimes, it will happen sometimes not, when i enter a specific DM of a friend it crashes.

Expected behavior
Don't Freeze

System Info (please complete the following information):

  • OS: CachyOS
  • Version: v5.0.1
  • Any other relevant info:
    I installed it using the dorion-bin package

Additional context
Log
** (WebKitWebProcess:69802): ERROR **: 15:01:04.279: WebProcess didn't exit as expected after the UI process connection was closed

reloading fixed it.

It seems like it happens in some scenarios.

I just realized this only happens when i enter on one of my friend's chat, and not copy pasting, it causes a freeze for some reason.

is that chat particularly GIF-heavy? There is a note about this in the README

Not GIFS, but alot of screenshots.

It's probably the same issue (or similar) then. I'll leave this open for now but I don't think I have any control over fixing this myself, as it's most likely a bug in WebkitGTK. Or maybe the Tauri v2 upgrade will fix this, idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Alright, but btw the images that were sent on that chat were sent on a link.

Yea that's fine, the method doesn't matter, I think it's a rendering issue or something
