Preface

Jaya Ballard and Chandra Nalaar say a lot of very similar things. Here's a run-down of cards that explicitly quote one of them in flavour text. Take this as a quiz by hiding all the answers (eg grep '^[^-]') and seeing if you can figure out which line is by which pyromancer!

The Quotes

"Once great literature - now great litter."

"GOTCHA!"

"That's a lotta nuggets."

"I strive for elegance and speed in my work."

"Oh, no - not /you/ again?!"

"Frankly, destruction is best left to professionals."

"The only 'art' these beasts possess is the art of noise!"

"Yes, I think 'toast' is an appropriate description."

"Some have said there is no subtlety to destruction. You know what? They're dead."

"Overkill? This isn't a game of Kick-the-Ouphe!"

"Who needs the sun when you've got me around?"

"Eenie, meenie, minie, moe... oh, why not all of them?"

"And /I/ say north is where I /want/ it to be!"

"If you'd been there, you would've run from that deer, too!"

"Just the thing for those pesky water mages."

"Leaves more room for the big ones to fight in, you know."

"Anybody want some... /toast/?"

"All my spells smell like burnt hair lately."

"It's rarely worth questioning where the mana comes from. Just be grateful."

"Of course you should fight fire with fire. You should fight /everything/ with fire."

"Now /there's/ something you don't see every day."

"Walls? What walls?"

"I asked if they wanted to do things the easy way. I meant easy for me."

"They started it."

[CENSORED] never believed in using her "inside voice".

"There's plenty of fire to go around."

"Which do you think is the better deterrent: a moat of water or one of fire?"

"'Utterly' is my favorite way to destroy something."

"Well, this got out of hand."

"You're in luck. I brought enough to share."

"Spontaneous combustion is a myth. If you burst into flame, someone wanted you to."

"Who said there are no assurances in life? I assure you this is going to hurt."

"Those who wish to invade [CENSORED], please take it up with my servant."

"Lighting a fire needs kindling and heat. You be the kindling. I'll bring the heat."

"Who'd want to ignite things one at a time?"

"I like it here. You always get a little more for your mana."

After the fourth time [CENSORED] left a place engulfed in flames, she decided to just go ahead and make it her thing.

"The land here seems to go out of its way to kill you."
