Using the Raspbian autologin with our current setup, tty1 logs in before the last of the messages shows, causing them to appear on top of the login prompt. Pressing enter after they finish results in a clean/unobstructed shell prompt, but this is messy and also messes up the motd.
If you tell systemd to pause before autologin, it cleans up the entire mess.
