Yeah, this is definitely legacy code. The message also gets triggered way to much. I want to overhaul how Wieldables handle being out of ammo/charge in general, make it more generic for and flexible. This is currently not super-high-prio, but it's on my list. |

I've noticed a hard-coded player interaction hint in WieldableItemPD that feels like a holdover from early flashlight implementation:
A custom hint message would work better here, as "out of battery" might be anachronistic for games set in different themes and time periods, such as saying a magic staff is "out of mana", poisoned spray is "out of poison", steampunk device is "out of steam" 😋, etc.
