Make it easier to add/change sponsors on open-bio.org/events/bosc/sponsors/ #17

(Yo, sorry for assigning this to you--I can work on it if you don't have time) |

CoFest sponsor to be added here: |
Can we add @heuermh to this conversation? |
Yep, you just did. 😉 |
Could I be added as a project owner here? I am not able to assign the new issue #20 to myself. |
You should be able to now. Shout if not. |
Thank you, @hlapp |
I think current sponsors are up to date on the sponsors page, and we have an issue open for collaborationfest. Closing this issue. |
Thanks, all! For future reference, the pages that include sponsor logos are:
|
Done for now, but we have a seventh BOSC sponsor to add now |
Also, with MediaWiki we had access to template and snippets for reused fragments of content - perfect for things like the sponsorship blocks here which are used on multiple pages. I am unclear if and how we can do that with the WordPress blocks? |
I have been thinking about this a lot since it has been a big pain. How
does this plan sound?
1) create a page that allows us to edit the logos much the way we can edit
board members, with fields for image, url, title, year and sponsor-type
(e.g. collaborationfest vs bosc)
2) figure out what needs to be done to a) insert blocks easily and b)
retire them as the next year comes around

If the tagging makes it easy to insert "BOSC 2019" or "BOSC 2020" or "CoFest 2019", and any logo can have multiple tags - great plan! |
I think we should move the current sponsors to the top. Let's have the BOSC sponsors first, and then (smaller) the CoFest-only sponsors. Google Cloud should be listed in both.
CoFest sponsors should also be added to the CoFest page.
Also need to add new sponsors to https://www.open-bio.org/events/bosc/ (and if possible, fix the layout of the sponsor logos--I couldn't get them to line up vertically)
