🌐 The Mobility Data Summit last week in Montreal was a great success. Thank you all for your participation.

🙏 I had the privilege of recognizing GBFS contributors of the last 12 months. MobilityData would also like to thank all contributors over the years. Thank you for making GBFS what it is today! 💜

As promised, here are the takeaways from the sessions:

• 🤝 Boston, Madrid and Montreal are leading by example through their close collaboration with transport operators (notably by using MDS).
• 🚲 Aggregators and trip planners play a central role in the ecosystem to enable a collective movement that benefits travelers.
• 💳 Opinions diverge on which is the best user experience between deep integration and redirection to the operator's app for booking and payment.
• ⚡️ The community is full of ideas and skills to make GBFS even more efficient, including: TTL best practices, GPS coordinate rounding, ETag, sharding by city, Pub-Sub model, etc.
• 🌟 Several organizations have taken advantage of GBFS v3.0 to upgrade their code that manages GBFS feeds. Visibility on future versions is a recurring need.
• 🙌 User data protection precautions are often cumbersome for operators and cities. Sharing our best practices benefits everyone.

These takeaways will be valuable to guide our efforts in 2025.
