What problem does your feature request solve?

Particularly for single plots, if there would be a way for the Select Plot panel not to be overlapping with the plot behind (including maybe removing any ‘excess’ whitespace border?) then it would be possible for user to have both plot and menu visible within same screen and be able to navigate between different plots more fluidly (a bit more like the RES drop-down experience).

Describe the solution you'd like

Push the ‘Select Plot’ drop-down over to (e.g.) right-hand side, such that it doesn’t overlap with plot outputs? Maybe go for a sidebar, with collapsable sections, ala rose edit or traditional windows help.

Describe alternatives you've considered
