Intelligent plotting of x/y labels in scatter plot

What problem does your feature request solve?

If we are plotting two variables that have the same standard name in a scatter plot, but on two different model/pressure levels, it is impossible to tell which axis is which. So need some logic which checks if variable names are equal, distinguish axis through some other coordinate such as pressure level.
