Visas for IT Professionals

Denmark

  • Intro: The Positive List for Skilled Work is a list of skilled professions experiencing a shortage of qualified professionals in Denmark. If you have been offered a job included in the Positive List for Skilled Work, you can apply for a Danish residence and work permit based on this scheme.
  • Length of Stay: 4 years

Germany

  • Intro: Attractive routes have been created for IT specialists from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland (so-called “third countries”) to obtain a work visa in Germany. The type of visa you are eligible for depends on your qualifications and the job offer in Germany.
  • Intro: If you have a formally recognised academic or tertiary-level qualification in IT and have a concrete job offer in Germany, you can obtain an EU Blue Card.
  • Length of Stay: 4 years
  • Intro: A residence permit for qualified employment (under Section 18a or Section 18b of the Residence Act [AufenthG]) may apply to you if you have completed training or a degree in IT that is recognised in Germany or is equivalent, but you do not meet the requirements for an EU Blue Card.
  • Intro: You can work as an IT specialist in Germany even if you do not have a formal vocational qualification or university degree, as long as you can prove that you have work experience in the IT sector.

Hong Kong

  • Intro: TechTAS provides a fast-track arrangement for eligible companies to admit non-local technology talent to undertake research and development (R&D) work for them in the HKSAR. Eligible companies would first have to apply for a quota. A company allotted with a quota by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) can accordingly sponsor an eligible person to apply for an employment visa/entry permit within the 24-month quota validity period.
  • Length of Stay: 2 years

Singapore

  • Intro: Tech.Pass is a visa that allows established tech entrepreneurs, leaders or technical experts from around the world to come to Singapore to perform frontier and disruptive innovations.
  • Length of Stay: 2 Years

Taiwan

  • Intro: To recruit international digital talents and accelerate the progress of domestic, industrial, and social digital transformation, the Ministry of Digital Affairs (moda) formulated and promulgated the “Foreign Special Professionals with Specialized Knowledge/Skills in the Digital Field” on May 5, 2023. This new category is designed to attract more foreign digital talents to participate in the development of digital economy industries in Taiwan. Furthermore, to encourage international digital talents to exchange, work, and start businesses in Taiwan, the Administration for Digital Industries, moda (hereinafter referred to as the Administration) invites international digital economy talents to participate in industry exchanges within Taiwan, and actively seeks more international digital talents to serve Taiwan’s digital economy industries, thereby facilitating the industries’ prosperous development.
