minor build issue: node-gyp dependency still uses distutils, breaks build on python versions >3.9 #33

Per nodejs/node-gyp#2869 and other related issues,

issue was closed via nodejs/gyp-next#214 which is available in node-gyp v10+.

Recommend updating to node-gyp v10+ (package.json has "node-gyp": "^9.3.1")
