Cross posting from pop-os/shell#1646 but I have confirmed that it only happens when using Tiling-Assistant in my case.

In Fedora 39 / Gnome 45.4 / Wayland, dual screens, opening a new tab in Gnome-Terminal moves the terminal window to a different monitor.

It only happens when the terminal is tiled to one side (not if bottom/top or corner).

If I disable Tiling Assistant, the problem disappear.

Also, it's only when creating a 2nd tab. After that, if I re-position the window and open a 3rd tab, it won't cause the issue again.

System Info:

  • Distro (incl. version): Fedora 39
  • GNOME Shell version: Gnome 45.4
