Description

We need to formally declare an open source license for our project's GitHub repository to specify what terms our code can be used under. This helps clearly communicate public usage permissions.

Acceptance Criteria

  • MIT license file added to root of repository
  • License badge displayed at top of README

Tasks

  • Research OSS licenses like MIT, Apache 2.0 to select best fit
  • Generate MIT license text file using license identifier
  • Configure GitHub to detect license file from root
  • Update README installation section confirming dependencies and licenses
