Just linking in a few people on top of my head for now -- anyone please feel free to jump in, link more people in, provide comments, ask questions, etc

@briochemc @navidcy @Ali-Ramadan @glwagner @milankl @Alexander-Barth @jmbeckers @ctroupin @JuliaClimate @JuliaGeo

Please also take a look at the tentative list of 2' contributions in the repo's main README.md if you get a chance

Anyone around at OSM 20 tomorrow and available to come to the workshop? Please let me know via this thread or some other way if you will be able to help with this. Thanks

@meggart I am linking you here as I noted that this data help desk booth and that one where EarthCube is listed. Do you know if someone there will be able to e.g. showcase ESDL.jl ?

@zhenwu0728 and @suyashbire1 I just realized I forgot to link you in the above (sorry for the oversight ...)

Hi, Would like to join but we are all in Belgium for the moment

Thanks @jmbeckers

Is there anything specific you would like highlighted about GHER's packages etc? A couple plots or a picture of the group that I could link to in addition to your GitHub org maybe?

A few side notes:

  • I just emailed OSM to ask about the possibility to have a telecon setup (seems unlikely but who knows...)
  • I need to present a colleague's talk this PM so I probably won't do too much on this repo between now and tonight but will keep an eye out for e.g. PRs or issues if any

It seems that we will be able to telecon after all.

@Ali-Ramadan @milankl and @jmbeckers would you be able to attend and say a few words about your respective packages at 1pm PST?

I will post detail / send link after I set up tomorrow AM.

I will try to join a give a short presentation about some of our packages. (NCDatasets.jl, DIVAnd.jl, PhysOcean.jl, CFTime.jl and DataAssim.jl), I have made a short presentation. Will you post it here, how we can connect?

Plan is to have bluejeans for video & sound output + gotomeeting & mic so you can hear from audience. Meeting with the specialist to set it up in a bit.

Will post updates to this thread asap (by 11am PST most likely)

It was a very nice overview of the julia climate/ocean/... ecosystem yesterday. Thanks a lot Gael for organizing this! I would be curious to know how many people where in the audience. At least it sounded more than just 3. :-)

Thank you all so much for participating and making this work out so beautifully on such short notice. I feel that this was a resounding success and outstanding first step. Will follow up soon ...

Ps. A special thanks to @zhenwu0728 who saved the day by providing the crucial ethernet dongle just in time, and to @milankl @Alexander-Barth @briochemc & @glwagner for showcasing all of this great work

Dear all

I finally got around to reviewing the recording from the OSM event. As I did not notice anything that would requires being cut, I pushed to YouTube @ https://youtu.be/xOeB-uwoMI0

Might start advertising it early next week -- if you get a chance to watch it

I can probably cut some parts e.g. @Alexander-Barth @milankl @briochemc @glwagner were uncomfortable with this kind of advertising (please do asap or give this a +1 if you get a chance)

ps. Sorry we did not capture the audience's sound. I actually paid for it but the Moriots decided to show up with just a phone plug ... That's also why remote folks did not get to hear them. At some point I may try to add subtext to fill the blanks

I am fine with that too. Thanks for making the video available.
