The last activity is from 6 years ago, and there are no installation instructions. Should this repo be archived? Are there other projects that have replaced this one, than could be linked in the readme?

I believe there has just not been any need or desire to change it in that time.
Its not like julia syntax changes that much, especially the bits that this highlights.

Great! So how to install it?

According to the Kate documentation

Custom .xml highlight definition files are located in org.kde.syntax-highlighting/syntax/ in your user folder found with qtpaths --paths GenericDataLocation which usually are $HOME/.local/share/ and /usr/share/

But do read that section of the docs as there are a few terms and conditions.

I assume put them in that folder and then restart Kate.

Maybe adding links to
https://kate-editor.org/fr/syntax/
https://kate-editor.org/syntax/data/syntax/julia.xml
should be considered now

Without doing anything, I am getting syntax-highlighting identical to what is demoed here. I though this repo also included stuff like a language server and linting. Is this repo in fact mainly about syntax highlighting?
