no search results are displayed though it says connected. I am using DC the latest version. this problem is persisting continuously. What should I do??
even though search results come, download doesn't start.. it only shows connecting and then connection timeout

You should provide more information in your issue, such as what is your share size, your IP, your nickname; which connection mode you are using etc.

We really can't help you with the current amount of information available in the message above.

IP : 10.117.82.145
connection mode : Active mode(I have no router/ I have configured my router)
My DC++ remains connected and I also see people downloading from me but I am not able to search/ download anything.
