Covenant energy projectors are meant to be their own equivalent to a MAC cannon. In ship to ship combat however it doesn't always perform as expected and even when it does it is underwhelming.
The energy projectors main source of damage is the lava it creates however most of the time the shots don't create this lava. I do not know why sometimes lava is created and other times it is not.
Even with the lava, the damage is smaller than the explosive blast created by a MAC shot, and the lava seems to sometimes block further shots. MAC ammo consoles can also store 3 shots but energy projectors can only store one for some reason.
This makes called in Covenant ships inferior in combat to UNSC and URF ones.
Difference between expected and actual behavior
Shots should be hitting walls and then creating lava. However seemingly more than half the time they hit the walls but only do tiny amounts of damage with no other effect and no lava.
Steps to reproduce
Call in an energy projector ship, try to engage in ship to ship combat or fire upon a station/ship
