A new focus for the OSWG = Supporting the growth of the Impact Framework PlugIn Ecosystem

Whilst discussing the question 'How can we increase contribution to this OSWG, and across all it's projects?'
related to 2 OSWG KPIs:

1. Increase Contributors
2. Increase Adopters

OSWG Chair @tmcclell suggested a new focus for our OSWG: Support Impact Framework with PlugIns

Rational

• The Impact Framework has recently been the focus for our GSF Carbon Hack 24, interest is at a peak
• We believe it is the tool needed to decarbonise the software industry - because it provides a way to compute and report the environmental impacts of software applications accurately.
• The Impact Framework tool will become more useful, and gain more adopters, as the number of PlugIns continues to grow.

How could the OSWG support IF with PlugIns?

• Could the OSWG be the reviewer of IF PlugIns before they get 'approved' or added to the IF Hub?
• We could give PlugIn developers a floor to demo/showcase what they're building eg. CA SDK demo, before it gets added to the Hub?
• We could ask participants of the Hackathon who come from member orgs to share their experiences at the OSWG?

• Happy the OSWG would like to support IF more, increasing contributions and adopters.
• IF are in the process of defining what governance the IF PlugIns Hub should have, if any. Once defined, the OSWG chairs could use this, if we go ahead with the OSWG being the reviewer of PlugIns.
• We won't want the OSWG to have a dependency on Joseph's attendance at every call
• Other useful support for the IF would be participation in the IF repo discussion forum, to get the community discussions more active, responding to community ones / raising new ones that could then be shared in the public newsletter.
