[Feature Request]: Offer a Wordpress exporter as a mean of a universal exchange format #1698
Comments
I am not sure I understand. WordPress already an export (via WXR formatted files) built into the core and perhaps two or three dozen plugins adding extra functionality. Publii already will import content from WordPress via the same WXR files. It seems you are suggesting that the Publii folks write a WordPress plugin to create an advanced export format which Publii and other sites could use? I am not sure that the market is all that big, or that there would not be better places effort would be invested in making Publii better. That is my $0.02. P.S. there are some tools like the "Export media with selected content" plugin in WP that can enhance the vanilla export process. FYI |
I mean a function to export Publii articles to the Wordpress format, so that almost every other CMS can import them. |
Hi, Probably in v.0.47 we will address a case to support export in WXR format |
That would be huge! |
Nice. Thanks. |
Feature Description
There are many Wordpress importers out there, problably most CMS have one. By offering a Wordpress exporter Publii could leverage its format as a universal exchange format for cross-CMS collaboration. Plus, there should be plenty of code out there that you could take advantage of making this an easy task.
