No Night Vision Flickering #755
Comments
Doesn't Minecraft already have an accessibility setting for this? |
Not for night vision flickering to my knowledge, it does for darkness pulsing and thunder. |
For the record, this is another mod of the same purpose that supports 1.20.2: https://modrinth.com/mod/flickerfix |
Might be worth considering, though I'd expect Mojang to fix it first by adding an option. |
Just tested it myself, 1.20.1 version seems to work just fine on 1.20.2 with sodium + indium and also when added to the latest version of Fabulously Optimized (5.5.0 beta.2). Also, FlickerFix is a Forge mod, No Night Vision Flashing is the most popular alternative on Fabric. |
NNVF updated recently and now supports 1.20.4. I have been shipping it in a FO fork for two months with no reported issues. |

What it does
It changes the normal effect of night vision running out from flickering to gently fading out.
Why should it be in the modpack
Why shouldn't it be in the modpack
Additional details
Not being allowed to distribute via CurseForge is likely a mistake, as the mod is open source, MIT-licensed and it is available on Modrinth.
If it doesn't update it would likely be easy to find a replacement or for someone to fork it and update it themselves.
