Show version and show running-config difference

Hi,

While upgrading frr from one version to other, I am seeing some discrepancy in show version and show running-config.
During upgrade, I passed Dpkg::Options::=--force-confold -o Dpkg::Options::=--force-confdef options.

Show version cmd output shows (I have truncated output due to privacy reasons):

 show vers
FRRouting 8.4.4

show running config output shows :

show running-config
Building configuration...

Current configuration:
!
frr version 8.3-1
frr defaults datacenter

NOTE: During the frr upgrade, the frr service did not restart but dpkg -l cmd output shows that new frr debian is installed.

dpkg -l | grep frr
ii  frr                                8.4.4-1.1ubuntu6                       amd64        FRRouting suite of internet protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, ...)
/home/sysop#

Could you please help me understand why I am seeing the discrepancy here in the above output and what is the actual frr debian running in the system.
