This test case is for checking that the simulator runs with enough performance for the comfort of the participants.
The scene must be built for a headset. The steering wheel needs to be connected. The OVR metrics tool must be installed on the quest. Showing FPS in the HUD must be enabled.
FPS of 90 is the target. It should never drop below 60. Oculus performance tips.
This run through needs to be repeated for every scenario and participant location.
Steps | Check |
---|---|
Check in stable position | Look outside to the trees |
Look back | |
Look down on your virtual hands | |
Look into the left mirror | |
Look into the center mirror | |
Move the head so that you have a view on all mirrors at once | |
Still look at the mirrors - Move the hands up into the view. | |
Drive on the road | Look straight |
Look left and right. All through the side windows. | |
Encounter the second driver | See them from afar |
Stop in front of them, a car length apart | |
Wave at each other | |
Drive past them on their left. Look at them through the right window |
The frame rates per second don't drop under 60 across each check.
