Observable Property codelist entries #318
Comments
@misev many thanks! |
@KathiSchleidt any progress on this issue? |
I'll go ahead and merge the data requests I have opened for the datacubes in rasdaman. These properties can be updated in rasdaman once they are available. |

Coverages should provide a link to an ObservableProperty concept via the definition attribute of the range type (band description). However, the original data providers do not provide such a referencable ObservableProperty concept. Example water_and_wetness
Thus, within FAIRiCUBE, we'll set up an ObservableProperty codelist for those properties we have datasets for.
We still need to define the full content of the individual ObservableProperty entries, but this can be done over time (hot discussions going on in OGC on ObservableProperties). As a start it would suffice to provide these ObservableProperty entries as stubs, as description provide links to the original source definition (in the water_and_wetness example definitely provide the link https://land.copernicus.eu/en/technical-library/hrl-water-wetness-2018-user-manual/@@download/file as this contains good information)
As a first step, could you please provide a list of datasets for which we need to provide ObservableProperties, ideally already with descriptive information such as the link in the example above. Based on this, we can create codelist requests like this one on water and wetness
Once the codelist entries are available, these should go in the definition field. Additional information like the descriptive link can also be added to the description text.
