I think the maximal frequency depends on what modulation you're looking for. But 2.5GHz is probably way too high for any of them. Like way, way too high.

You might consider buying a proper Software Defined Radio, like a HackRF One or one of the several other SDRs out there. They can transmit in that kind of frequency range. But it's high frequency and you need some dedicated high frequency hardware for that.

Max frequency is 1 GHz, rpitx is using PLLC and PLLC has a max frequency of 1000 MHz (https://pinout.xyz/pinout/gpclk)
