cute, but "Support for core package dependencies be dropped 2 years after their initial release" is a like pure socialism (ie unattainable) in an academic environment 😁

The @ESMValGroup/technical-lead-development-team decided to adopt this at the October 2024 meeting. We will need to update the documentation.
