With latest changes in API, this is no longer necessary, since the UES is returned as user_ues and stored as a part of Event itself (see #116 )

I don't see how the API changes anything. This is if a user chooses a ues when he is not connected, so the network requests will fail, and his ues won't be saved in the backend.
