Problems with search #27
Comments
Same problem on my computer. |
I am also having indexing issues, suggested index options in repo not working. @David-Summers |
There's a workaround here for the Visio search issue. At least on Windows 11. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/use-the-shapes-window-to-organize-and-find-shapes-2e468457-1059-49d3-8955-32b2527cce98. Found this in this post -> https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/515851/visio-search-doesn39t-work-again.html Regards, |
Turns out the workaround above doesn't work. At least not for me. |
Does not work for me either |
Any update on this? |
Hi,
Sorry for this since it probably is not something wrong with the shape files here but Visio (as usual) but since you have dealt with search problems before you might have seen this. Feel free to just close it, this is not a Visio support after all 😄
So I read through the list to fix the search and it worked, but when I removed the extra files from my download folder I started seeing this behavior:
And the search pane is really slow.
I tried to reindex the My Shapes catalog, redid the entire index from settings, reinstalled Visio but nothing fixed it. Then I added the files back in download and now it works again. So I looked at the Stencil in the result and it points to the download folder not the My Shapes folder.
If I search in Windows explorer it is correct.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it? (I could ofc just keep a copy of the files in my download folder.
