A new feature in Eleventy v3.0: 11ty/eleventy#614

Examples

CommonJS:

module.exports = async function(eleventyConfig) {
  // …
};

or ESM:

export default async function(eleventyConfig) {
  // …
};

Workaround

This approach works today in CloudCannon with Eleventy v3.0 and async configuration:
