Can Chia plots be tokenized and traded as a secondary coin?

Just wonder if there could be some kind of mechanism to be able to trade the Chia plots? In stead of holding plots physically in one's possession, could it be tokenized and traded as a secondary coin? Maybe we can leverage a decentralized file storage to validate the space requirement for each plot token? This could help to make the ecosystems more accessible to small individuals without waiting indefinitely for a coin to drop from sky.
