We rank this user story 9th because:

  • Impact: The ability to search for specific topics on the home page greatly improves user experience, especially for users navigating large amounts of content. However, it's less likely that there will not be too many topics on the categories page. So, it's not that necessary to have a searching function(but good to have).

  • Effort: The effort is low because implementing a search bar is a common, well-documented feature. It typically involves minor frontend changes to add the interface and backend integration with existing database search queries, making it quick to develop with minimal complexity.
