v1.0 Design Feedback Thread

Want to start a thread to start discussions on how the API should evolve to become stable enough for the first 1.0 release.

To help simplify detection algorithms, some operations on scene lists can be moved to a SceneList that provides the ability to transform (drop, merge, expand, contract) scenes. Ideally they could also be chained, e.g.:

scene_list = scene_manager.get_scene_list()
filtered_scenes = scene_list.merge(min_scene_len="0.5s").drop(min_scene_len="3s")

The following figures show what I plan to add to the manual for each option, which visually depicts the arguments (each scene is coloured alternating in blue and orange):
