Multiple genre is a part of the id3v2 standard and should be supported

If you view a file with multiple genres on it, there are no separators between the genres, and this makes it appear that you can not set multiple genres as well.

Why would you want multiple genres?

I use "Instrumental" as a flag and not a genre. This allows it to be combined with other genres. This also cuts down on otherwise genre duplication. "Instrumental Progressive Rock" need not be a specific genre.

I also use "EXPLICIT" as a flag, allowing it to be easily added to downloaded music and work with all of my players. (This covers music I shouldn't play for my kids, as well as music I wouldn't want to easily share at work.)

This also allows my music to include generic as well as specific genres (as described in the id3v2 spec). "Rock; Progressive Rock; Instrumental; Cover".

This also makes me worried about multiple artists. I've not tested multiple artists, but I'm suspecting that if the genres are incomplete the artists are as well. I use multiple artists in my songs so that my artist list never include "Somebody feat. Somebody Else".

What player(s) allows the user to see the multiple genres? I know iTunes does not.

I've never used iTunes. The apps I have used always complained about how poorly iTunes handled tags.

I've only recently been using a Mac. Multiple genre was pretty common in Linux. It was also the norm in Windows. (On Windows, I enjoyed using MP3Tag as it worked well with everything I threw at it.)

VLC displays multiple artists as well as multiple genres, but doesn't include a separator between them.

I've had problems finding a reasonable audio application for the Mac, so at this point I'm just using a local Ampache installation.
