This is an issue that crosses both the Babylon Native and Babylon React Native and thus I'm just putting it in the Babylon Native repo.

Must:

  • Reorganize README into sections with TOC at the top
  • Update what is working and what is not working in terms of feature parity with Babylon.js
  • Add a section on when it is appropriate to use Babylon Native / Babylon React Native compared to other solutions like WebView or Ionic

Stretch:

  • Add a sample that serves as a quick start for Babylon React Native

We should link to the BN documentation about troubleshooting the Android emulator as well. See https://forum.babylonjs.com/t/babylonreactnative-failing-to-create-glcontext-on-android-emulator-with-playground-0-65/28006/6.

Maybe also add documentation on performance issues.

Hi is there any ideas to when these issues will be sorted? I really think babylon.js is amazing and it's unfortunate that it doesn't work in react native. Also if this is resolved is there anyway a tutorial on youtube can be posted to guide users on using the react native babylon.js library?

I'm not sure what you mean by "these issues", but we are working on documentation this month.

Most of the Babylon.js features work in React Native today via @babylonjs/react-native. If you are running into issues, feel free to log issues at https://github.com/BabylonJS/BabylonReactNative/issues!
