  1. i did not see a command or a mapping to enter caret mode directly. one always has to first enter 'visual mode' then escape back to caret.

  2. inside caret mode movement is very limited. no scrolling of pages or numerical multipliers.

  3. visual can be started and moved off screen focus. IMO page focus should jump to visual. caret position should change page focus if it goes off screen.
